Rachael is a member of the Writers Guild of Ireland, writing for theatre, film, non-fiction and academia.
She co-runs Fork Studio with her family and offers dramaturgy and script advice in the areas of alchemy, myth, synchronicity, symbols, post-heroic and eco-heroine mythological frameworks.
Rachael's writing is published locally and internationally by Bloomsbury, JMI Canada and Fork. Rachael has a background in theatre; she trained as a director with National Theatre Wales and National Theatre UK. She has staged and performed work across Wales, Bristol, London and New York with high praise from audiences and critics, including the New York Times, The Stage and the New Yorker. Rachael's work to date is funded by Creu Cymru, Arts Council Wales, Wales Arts International, Arts Council England, the British Council and Screen Ireland.
As a Jungian arts based researcher and terrapsychological inquirer, Rachael addresses the cultural issues surrounding birth and miscarriage approaches, such as unacknowledged miscarriage trauma, negative birth narratives and the exclusion of women's experiences from research. Rachael holds a master's in art, psyche, and creative imagination from Limerick School of Art and Design and is pursuing a PhD in the same faculty, integrating myths, rituals and ecotherapies for compassionate maternal care. Her latest book, Notes On Birth For My Daughter, brings art, hypnobirthing and depth psychology together through accessible weekly rituals for pregnancy.
